Ambassador of Vatican City State Visits Kadhimain Holy Shrine

Archbishop Mitja Leskovar, the Ambassador of the Vatican City State to Iraq, and his accompanying delegation were honored by visiting the Holy Shrine of Imamain Kadhimain (AS). The delegation was warmly received by the KHS Deputy Secretary-General, Eng. Saad M. Hasan.

During the meeting, the KHS Deputy Secretary-General gave the delegation a brief account of the significant role that the KHS Secretariat General plays in raising awareness of Iraqi and Islamic society regarding tolerance, dialogue, and cultural and religious diversity by promoting the spirit of peaceful coexistence and a culture of moderation, rejecting all forms of extremism, and combating hate speech and sectarian incitement. Likewise, its efforts were directed to foster the national and human discourse by holding seminars, conferences and participating in relevant forums.

The delegation then had a tour within the Holy Courtyard and visited Al-Jawadain Library and the Woodcarving & Decoration Fair where the artistic, historical, and Islamic architectural works are displayed before continuing their tour within the historical and Islamic architectural sites of the Holy Shrine.

They also witnessed the projects being achieved and the services offered by the Kadhimain Holy Shrine to the visitors.

The Vatican's Ambassador was highly impressed by the Holy Shrine's spiritual atmosphere, as well as its aesthetic and architectural features.

At the end of the visit, the delegation thanked the KHS Secretariat General for their kind hospitality, wishing them all success.
