In commemoration of the sorrowful occasion of the demolition of the blessed graves of the Imams buried in Baqi’ Cemetery, a mourning program was prepared by KHS Secretariat General condemning that tragedy for which humanity should be ashamed, as the holiness of the Islamic sanctuaries was violated.

His Excellency Sheikh Muneer Al-Jaberi delivered a lecture and touched on the religious significance of Al-Baqi’ Cemetery as it has the honor of being the burial place of the Holy Imams, and referred to the demolition of the holy shrines on the eighth of Shawwal 1344 AH, (April 21, 1925) by the enemies of God and humanity, who wanted by their heinous crime to extinguish the light of God and violate the sanctities of Muslims.

The Hussaini reciter, Ahmed Al-Khaighani also participated with some poems of elegy which was witnessed by masses of mourners.

It’s worth noting that the Kadhimain Holy Shrine Secretariat General is keen to commemorate this painful event and reiterate its call to rebuild these Holy sanctuaries
