Awarding Winners of First Rajab Festival for Youth Contest
Within the week-long activities prepared in celebration of Eid Al-Ghadir, the day when Imam Ali (AS) was divinely crowned as the Prince of the Faithful, the KHS Secretariat General held a ceremony to honor the winners of the contest of the First Rajab Festival for Youth.
The contest included literature, arts, essay writing, short story, Arabic poetry, and painting.
The ceremony was started with some verses of Holy Quran, and was followed by the KHS Secretariat General Speech which was delivered by its Board Member, Eng. Jalal A. Muhammad, who said, “One of the goals of this festival is to discover and encourage young talents to revive the legacy of AhlulBayt (AS), and establish the principles and values that Imam Kadhim (AS) called for, as the festival was held under the slogan (Imam Kadhim is a light that illuminated the bottoms of prisons).”
More than fifty-four participation from inside and outside Iraq were received concerning the festival’s six sections (essay, short story, Arabic poetry, painting, photography, and short films.
Following the examination of the works by specialized committees, three winners were chosen for the first ranks in each section.
Al-Jawadain Chant Band also took part in the ceremony, after that each participant gave a brief speech about their works and feelings, and the festival was concluded by awarding them with certificates of merits and financial prizes from the blessings of Imamain Kadhimain (AS).
