Visitors Service Dept. Various Services Provided During Arbaeen
The millionth crowds on the Arbaeen pilgrimage are still marching with firm allegiance and devotion to visit Imamain Kadhimain (AS) and commemorate this painful occasion.
In response to these large numbers, the Kadhimain Holy Shrine's Visitors Service Department contributes effectively to providing its services as the program planned for this event.
Mr. Ihsan J. Kadhim, the head of the Dept. explained to us: “Under the guidance and support of the KHS Secretary General Dr. Haider H. Al-Shammari, the department's sections and units have adopted a service program distinguished from previous seasons in terms of preparation, coordination, and organization.
The Depository Unit has opened (6) high-capacity centers, which may differ from previous years, with an approximate area of (2250 M2), where more than one hundred thousand bags are received daily.
In his speech, he pointed out the Entrances Unit's efforts to provide the highest levels of service for the masses of visitors by rehabilitating and opening (34) shoe cabinet stations, as well as (190) movable ones throughout the courtyards.
He also referred to the role played by the Lost Objects Unit which has developed two centers where visitors can make direct contact in order to facilitate the search process and identify personal IDs, passports, lost documents, and the like so that they can be returned to them as quickly as possible.
This year, in addition to its work, he continued, “Information Desk for the lost & Wheelchairs Unit was keen to provide “free calls” service for visitors, and a field-based mechanical team was also made available for servicing wheelchairs and strollers.”
The head of the department also referred to establishing a bakery affiliated with the Kadhimain holy shrine to prepare bread for visitors by distributing it to Imamain Jawadain’s (AS) Guest Restaurant and Mawkib, visitors’ housing places, as well as the Husseini processions in the holy city of Kadhimiya.
He concluded his speech that the department is running at full capacity thanks to continuing coordination and cooperation between all of its staff and the assistance of the Holy Shrine departments in an effort to offer the best services to the esteemed visitors.
