KHS Secretariat General Participates in Specialized Discussion Session of Clergymen Association
Under the guidance of the KHS Secretary General, Dr. Haider H. Al-Shammari, the KHS delegation, headed by the KHS Deputy Secretary General, Eng. Saad M. Hasan took part in the specialized discussion Session of the Clergymen Association which was held by the National Committee for Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Conducive to Terrorism, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The Session was attended by representatives of the Presidency of Shiite Endowment Diwan, Sunni Endowment Diwan, Iraqi Fatwa House, and Ministry of Youth and Sports, besides a number of clerics from Iraqi provinces including, (Baghdad, Mosul, Diyala, Saladin, Wasit, Holy Najaf, and Maysan).
The two-day discussion session called for promoting moderate religious and national discourse, identifying extremist religious discourse and everything that threatens peace and social security, as well as social and awareness-raising strategies to reduce it, and highlighting the rule of law and respect for human rights.
The meeting also discussed the clerics' vital role in promoting concepts of moderation and cultural and religious diversity, as well as countering all forms of hatred and incitement.
The KHS delegation, for its part, praised the organizers' efforts in holding this blessed meeting, wishing them more success.
