Under the guidance of the KHS Secretary General, Dr. Haider H. Al-Shammari, the KHS delegation from Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Dept. accepted an invitation to attend a symposium regarding the International Arabic Language Day, held by the SG of Abbas (P) Holy Shrine/Al-Ameed Scientific and Intellectual Association under the slogan, “Our Arabic Language is the Chief of Languages”.

The conference was attended by a number of religious and intellectual personalities and those interested in Arabic language studies.

Many speeches were delivered highlighting the importance of Arabic, contemporary challenges facing its future in relation to discourse, the necessity of maintaining its identity against foreign words and terminologies, as well as preserving it from decline due to the influence of other languages, and upholding its rich linguistic legacy.

The event also witnessed the recitation of a set of fascinating Arabic poems.

The KHS delegation, for their part, praised the efforts of the organizers of this intellectual and cultural symposium, wishing them more success.
