Under the guidance of the KHS Secretary General, Dr. Haider H. Al-Shammari, a delegation from Kadhimain Holy Shrine answered an invitation to attend the annual festival held by ‘Askari Holy Shrine’s in commemoration of the 16th anniversary of bombing the two minarets of the Holy Shrine of Imam ‘Askari and Imam Al-Hadi (PBUT).

The festival was attended by many religious, scientific, and social figures and security officials, besides the visitors of the Holy Shrine.

Many speeches were delivered during the event, pointing out the tragedy and pain Muslims experienced in general and Iraqis particularly when that heinous criminal attack took place in one of God’s houses, which Allah has permitted to be raised up and in which His name is remembered, not to mention the value of this sacred site as the burial place of Imam ‘Askari and Imam Al-Hadi (PBUT), and the house of Imam Mahdi (May Allah Hasten His Reappearance).

The speeches also referred to the key role of the Supreme Religious Authority in safeguarding Iraq and its sanctuaries.

The conference also witnessed other activities, including displaying a documentary film about the rehabilitation process of the Holy Shrine and opening an exhibition of manuscripts and photographs that documented the heinous attack on the holy shrine and its rehabilitation process.

The KHS delegation, for their part, praised the event’s activities, wishing its organizers more success.
