Secretariat General of Kadhimain Holy Shrine hosted the Specialized Conference on Anti-drugs at Al-Hamza Conference Hall, which was held under the auspices of the president of Shite Endowment Diwan, by Imam Kadhim (PBUH) University, under the slogan “Iraq of Civilizations is Drug-free”. 

The conference was attended by a number of academics, security and legal figures, university professors, clerics, and representatives from civil society organizations.

The conference discussed the growing challenges of the spread and promotion of drug abuse and addiction, highlighting its dangers on youth, the severe harm drugs cause to human health, along with the legal and religious forbiddance of drugs.

The conference highlighted the effectiveness of national and social programs in combating drug abuse and prevention. It emphasized the importance of raising awareness among youth about the dangers of drug use, providing job opportunities to reduce unemployment, and enforcing strict laws against drug traffickers and dealers.

KHS Secretariat General, by holding such conferences, is committed to fulfilling its religious and moral responsibility, and also aims to raise awareness within the community, particularly youth, in order to minimise criminal activities and build a healthy society.
