KHS Secretary-General Checks on Lebanese Arrivals in Syria

The Secretary-General of Kadhimain Holy Shrine, Dr. Haider Hasan Al-Shammari, checked on the humanitarian conditions of the brotherly Lebanese arrivals in the Republic of Syria.

He made a field visit to oversee the relief committees formed by the Kadhimain Holy Shrine and other Holy Shrines, while also following up on the humanitarian campaigns efforts to assist the noble Lebanese refugees following the tragic massacres that left hundreds dead and injured, including men, women, and children.

The KHS Secretariat General has taken on the responsibility of addressing this crisis in accordance with the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority in the Holy Najaf, represented by His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Al-Sistani, through assisting those families who have suffered due to the brutal aggression launched by the criminal Israeli occupation against the cities and neighborhoods of southern Lebanon.

The assistance included providing appropriate housing, shelters, and care, as well as medical, health, and humanitarian supplies.

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General and his accompanying delegation attended meetings with His Excellency Sheikh Haleem Al-Bahbahani, the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority in Syria, and Mr. Hani Al-Ashqar, the Secretary of Lady Ruqayyah (PBUH) Shrine.

The meeting discussed the overall situation of the esteemed Lebanese families and explored efforts to secure their essential humanitarian needs.

In a related matter, the KHS Secretary-General stated to our website, “In response to the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority in the Holy Najaf regarding assisting the esteemed Lebanese people during their hardship resulted by the Zionist brutal aggression that targeted this safe country and unarmed citizens, the Shiite Endowment Diwan and the Holy Shrines have committed to delivering essential humanitarian, medical, and health services, along with other services.”

"The holy shrines began providing aid," he added, "by receiving and housing the arrivals in Iraq and Syria and meeting their essential needs."

He continued, “Along with these efforts, special services were offered for the sick, elderly, injured, and people with special needs by receiving them in the holy shrines’ medical facilities for necessary treatment, in coordination with official organizations, and continued following up of the presidency of Shiite Endowment Diwan and the secretaries of the holy shrines.”

The KHS Secretary-General also pointed out that there is a concerted effort to provide medical supplies through cooperation with the office of the supreme religious authority in Syria, aiming to support the Lebanese people as they struggle to preserve their land and human rights, amid the absence of international institutions and the shameful silence of the global community regarding the heinous crimes being committed against our Lebanese people.

The Lebanese arrivals, for their part, expressed their gratitude to the KHS Secretariat General for the support and care they received, as well as for standing with them during these challenging times.
