Under the guidance of the Secretary General of Kadhimain Holy Shrine, Dr. Haider H. Al-Shimmari, a delegation from KHS responded to an invitation to attend the opening ceremonies of Sustainable Development Day, held by the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University. The event was distinguished by the attendance of numerous scientific and academic figures.

Several speeches were delivered during the ceremony emphasized the significance of holding such forums, which represent a progressive step toward addressing environmental issues, protecting against the serious dangers of pollution, and working towards achieving comprehensive sustainable development goals.

The Sustainable Development Day activities also included the inauguration of posters and models exhibition, besides several campaigns that raise awareness on breast cancer prevention, “Youth of the Future” to promote children’s health, and shedding light on the importance of afforestation and agriculture, as well as a campaign to raise awareness on the risks of improper medication use.

The KHS Secretariat General, through its participation in this event, reflects its ongoing support and interest in scientific initiatives and sustainable development plans aiming to apply it in what serve the visitors of Kadhimain Holy Shrine.

The KHS delegation, for its part, praised the efforts of the event organizers, wishing them continued success.
