Enhancement and Upgrade of Kadhimain Holy Shrine's Lighting System
Under the guidance of the KHS Secretary-General, Dr. Haider H. Al-Shammari, the Engineering and Technical staff of the Electromechanical Maintenance Division/Lighting and Chandeliers Unit, in collaboration with the Studies and Designs Division and the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Unit of the Engineering Affairs Department, has successfully completed the upgrade and development of both the external and internal lighting systems at Kadhimain Holy Shrine, replacing them with modern and advanced systems that align with the recent renovations of the Holy Shrine.
Following the accomplishments of KHS infrastructural projects, these works are considered the most comprehensive maintenance procedures KHS witnesses, especially as the cladding project progresses to advanced stages in the surrounding courtyards.
The work on the project commenced after an engineering study conducted by the Studies and Designs Division, which identified the weak and intense lighting spots in the Holy Shrine and then presented electrical designs for the appropriate distribution of internal and external lighting systems.
Following this, work began on the interior sites, including the Holy Courtyard corridor, where the lighting intensity was increased from 50 lux to 300 lux, and non-protruding LED linear lighting fixtures were installed to complement the design of these areas. In addition, alternative power sources have been provided for emergency conditions.
Noteworthy, the accomplished works were executed by the outstanding efforts of KHS Technical and Engineering staff.
